Whilst i was floundering up and down the local pool in preparation for a triathlon, Cathy had an interesting visitor at home.
Now, it would be normal to think the worst when i came back to discover she had received: a bunch of flowers; a bottle of something fruity from Spain; a card; and a tube of Cadbury’s Mini-Eggs!
This however, was a wonderful gesture of thanks from Caroline & Rob after delivering their album at the weekend (which i’ll be blogging some pics of when i get the chance):

“Thank you very much for our wedding album… we absolutely love it and it will be visiting a lot of people soon”. I hasten to add there was a full bunch of flowers and more than 3 mini-eggs – i only ate some of those items – they’re reduced in the pic for artistic impression darling.
They have also penned a fantastic testimonial. We’ve received a number of these and we treasure them all; pressies deserve special mention though! It’s ok to eat mini-eggs before bed right? Carbohydrates are good for training… definitely…

With almost divine timing, torrential rain gave way to blazing sunshine for the wedding of Jo and Nick. Now a conspiracy theorist might see links to the fact the father of the bride was also the minister presiding at the wedding ceremony at Stapleford church – but not i no no. The godlike BBC weather site predicted it, and so it was: a brilliant day. Here’s a brief look:

For the reception, we moved to the fab Barrington Hall, a truly beautiful house.

This week’s cameo was Malcolm the cat. When out of his Suitcase Under the Bed™ [look out for it on Dragon's Den], he rampaged through the wedding preparations with feline disregard.

I really don’t know where he gets his belligerent behaviour from though, someone must be teaching him bad habits

Now listen up conspiracy fans, it turns out the vicar father of the bride happened to have a third role (you might call it a holy-ish trinity, but i wouldn’t) = photographer! He has almost as much equipment as me – an almost biblical feat in itself – and has photographed the real actual Queen, he had to make do with me and the D3 on this occasion

We found our way back up the Wellingborough Road to Harrowden Hall again…. but this time, for the Halloween wedding of Paula and Adam
The day after the clocks went back meant less light and more time for ghoulish behaviour. It was an honour for me and Cathy to be part of a great day.
The emotion started early: Paula’s sister gave birth the day prior to the wedding but still managed to fulfill her bridesmaid’s duties!

On to the party, which began with a pumpkin piñata:

A rather more sedate 1st dance…

…until the chorus kicked in

We were also able to put on a Crazybooth

Final word to the bride and groom:

After all the planning and work pressures, Vicky & Ben got married at Dunchurch Park in Rugby. As you’ll have seen from the blog, we aren’t strangers to the odd away day. However, we couldn’t claim this as one, not with several people venturing over from Hong Kong – mind you, i am looking forward to the referrals from this one

The evening was a sight too: with a dance off and even a hokey cokey! – i do blame the [excellent] Midnite Function Band for that though!

Yes, destination wedding photographer… has a certain ring to it doesn’t it

Clare & Fraser got married at the wonderful Crockwell Farm. Another fabulous day for it and we also enjoyed seeing some familiar faces. Here are some brief highlights:

Can’t finish this post without a request:

Apparently, Fraser has built up a bit of a reputation for answering his door sporting only a towel and a raised eyebrow. We always go above and beyond

Brooke & Andy tied the knot at the Hunsbury Hill Centre. They certainly had the weather – think we had all the rain for the pre-wedding shoot! A great day was had by all as you can see:

Pageboy Lenny was no small part of the day. He got so attached to my stepladder i didn’t want to take it away during the formals

Unfortunately, i spent a few hours in casualty the day after: because i had a run-in with a wall, it was nothing to do with Lenny’s chainsaw officer

I’m advised he does now have all the necessary health & safety equipment!

Caroline & Rob got married at Earls Barton Church with their reception at Harrowden Hall. A superb day right through. This sneaky peek is all black and white in honour of their love of the medium – there is even talk of a B&W album which i reckon would be übercool.

The first dance was spot on: emotional and funny in equal measure – ice, ice baby -…

… mind you, i think Caz might have a rival!

This weekend i had the great pleasure of being part of Lisa & Boz’s wedding day at Gainsborough Register Office with the reception at a friend’s house [the sort of house with a squash court!!]. Here’s a brief taster; look out for an update this weekend when i’ll add a few more – not least my death-defying effort hanging out the back of an XK8:

The star of the show though was Ava who provided the soundtrack with some exceptionally well-timed cries and cheers

… and walking? Easy!
